ONCOLog Keyboard Tips & Tricks

Test

Do you ever find yourself working in ONCOLog and moving from the keyboard to the mouse frequently?  Do you feel like it’s slowing you down?  Well, you’re in luck!  We have some tips and tricks to help save you time and increase your productivity.

Here are a few Tips and Tricks to help you!

  • Date Fields – When entering dates in ONCOLog, type “T” in the date field to enter today’s date. If you know that chemo started 3 weeks ago, type “T-21” (3 weeks = 21 days) and it will enter the correct date. Dates can be entered as 6 digits with or without the /’s. (for May 1, 2019, enter 050119 or 05/01/19). You do not need to enter the full year. This is not recommended for the Date of Birth field, as it is possible to have patients diagnosed in both 1918 and 2018.
  • F1- If you need help with a specific field, place your cursor in that field and press the F1 key on your keyboard.  This will open the STORE manual and take you directly to the page that discusses that specific field. If the field is not required in the STORE manual, it will take you to the cover page.
  • F2- The F2 key is another way to save the patients abstract.  If you are having connectivity issues it is important to save your data frequently.
  • F4- If your cursor is in a field with a drop down list, pressing the F4 button on your keyboard will open the selection drop down.  This is helpful if working on a laptop without a mouse or if you prefer your keyboard over your mouse.
  • F5 – If you inadvertently change information in a field, place your cursor in that field and press F5 on your keyboard.  This will reinsert the original information if you have yet to change screens and save the patient.
